an old road, three windmills and a boundary, October 2012
reports of our walks
The timing worked out just right to start the autumn season with a walk through Epping Forest along the boundary between Walthamstow and Woodford. The trees had a fine display of autumn leaves. The Tuesday group insisted on having a drink in the Rose & Crown, Mill Lane before completing the walk down beside the golf course to Chingford Hatch. The Sunday group was more sober-minded. This was sensible because even though the clocks had just been turned back at the end of summer time, dusk was just beginning before we finished.
